THE CIO INSTITUTE
John Pescatore, who served for 14 years as one of the Gartner Group’s senior vice presidents, responsible for all security programs, found that enterprises that experience the fewest security incidents were rarely the ones with the biggest budgets. Almost invariably, the common denominator was the quality of their information security team, and in particular some person or small group of people that took the initiative to get something done that would improve security rather than look for reasons why it would be too hard.
He searches for those people and groups who have shown what can be done. By telling their stories and to hundreds of thousands of people, he continues the tradition begun two decades earlier with the Government Technology Leadership Awards.
